Bird flu virus is a virus that has seen the public consciousness towards the awareness of the disorder raised significantly in recent years. This is manly because the world has become shocked at how rapidly this bird flu virus has spread among the population in central and southeast Asia. The severity of the bird flu virus epidemic shocked people in other parts of the world as there became a widespread fear that the bird flu virus would end up spreading to other parts of the world.

Granted, it is highly doubtful that there would ever be a mass migration of birds (infected or not) that would successfully cross seven thousand miles of ocean in a transpacific voyage to reach North America. However, this is not the only way the flu virus would be able to spread. There is no reason why the flu virus would not spread to other parts of the world if there was an importation of poultry that was infected. There have been many steps taken to insure that poultry imported from foreign lands to North America and other parts of the world is screened for infection and these steps have proven successful as there have been no outbreaks reported in North American territories.

However, it is not impossible that a human being infected with the bird flu virus to enter a foreign by means of transpacific travel. Again, this has not led to any spreading of the contagion into other parts of the world. The reason for this is a combination of people seeking treatment when the symptoms first occur and also a little bit of luck that no one unaware of having the virus has traveled to another land and accidentally spread the virus. Hopefully, the heavens will continue to smile of the population and the spreading of the bird flu virus will cease and those who have contracted it will get better as soon as possible.
